The three brothers are based on the three riders in the fairytale "Vasilisa the Beautiful" (who seem to just show up for no reason other than to mark the passage of time in the story?). In their "human" forms, I wanted them to vaguely correspond to different areas of Russia - Simo to the west (more European), Sindri to the north (Siberian), and Sisu to the south (the Eurasian Steppes).
